The Resigned Member of the Lebanese Parliament and President of the Independence Movement, Michel Moawad, tweeted: “I condemn the attack on the Ibrahim bin Adham Mosque in Byblos, and I call on the Lebanese, from all sects, to be vigilant and alert, so that we avoid being drawn into a civil strife, which some might have an interest in dragging Lebanon into.”
He added, “I also congratulate the security services on their timely arrest of the perpetrators, and I call on the authorities to strike with an iron fist. We insist on freedom, coexistence and diversity, the values that embody Lebanon’s identity.”
