President of the independence movement MP Michel Moawad tweeted that "what happened to prevent the meeting of the Saydet Al-Jabal Gathering is totally unacceptable," stressing that "civic freedoms in Lebanon are sacred, especially political freedoms, which should remain a joint front for all Lebanese regardless of any political differences.
