President of the Independence Movement MP Michel Moawad tweeted: "The elimination of the “Bekaa Escobar” is a new and specific achievement for the army, which must be complemented with the release of the military’s hand and that of legitimate security forces in order to enforce the law, restore stability, and liberate the Bekaa from all gangs."
