The president of the ‘Independence Movement’ Michel Moawad stated that “after a lengthy wait, the Municipality of Zgharta-Ehden has adopted the procedure of using transparency for bids and tenders when making municipal purchases, which we had been asking for repeatedly. I congratulate the municipality for this step, and I hope this will be the first step towards a full reform.”
Moawad, in a series of tweets on his personal ‘Twitter’ account, said:
“We ask for more, mainly in the areas of the employment procedures, the application of the Labor Law to punish the wrongdoers, the publication of audited accounts, and other steps leading to a successful and transparent municipal institution.”
