The President of the Independence Movement, Michel Moawad, described what took place around the Rafic Hariri Airport, with seagulls being shot down, as ‘extermination’. He said that the perpetrators of this slaughtering must be pursued.
On his personal Facebook page, Moawad wrote:
“The extermination of the seagulls around the airport is an environmental massacre that cannot be forgiven. The perpetrators must be pursued. It is not acceptable to cover up the flight safety threats with an added crime, instead of dealing with the real sources of danger.”
