Independence Movement leader Michel Moawad denied Wednesday media reports that the Independence Movement and the Marada Movement are joining hands to topple candidates supported the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Forces in Zgharta's municipal elections.
"As usual, Al-Akhbar twists the truth and seeks to fuel tensions," Moawad tweeted.
"The truth is we are seeking to bring everyone on board including civil society representatives to ensure the success of municipal councils in bolstering transparency and contributing to Zgharta's development," Moawad added.
