Independence Movement President and resigned MP Michel Moawad tweeted: “On this glorious day for the region, we pray for the salvation of Iraq, Lebanon and all peoples who yearn for freedom, peace, stability, and a dignified life of pluralism and respect for others.”
He added, “Pope Francis’ historic visit to Iraq carries a message of hope and peace to Iraqis and all the peoples of the region at a time which we are most in need of coming together, building bridges, and healing wounds.”
