The President of “The Independence Movement”, the resigned MP Michel Moawad tweeted: “We cannot accept the news about arresting the young man Joe Taouk since last Thursday without an attorney present; the matter that is considered contradictory to the amendment of article 47 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.”
He added: “We ask the judicial authorities to respect the implementation of the laws and the freedom of speech when arresting Lebanese citizens.”
