The president of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad tweeted on his Twitter account:
“The Judicial Council’s judgment in the martyr-President Bachir Gemayel assassination’s case is a step in the right direction towards re-establishing justice and giving back its role to the judiciary power.”
Moawad hoped that “soon the judicial decisions become coupled with the capacity to bring the criminals physically to Justice and be able to execute the sentences on them, so that real Justice gets implemented effectively.”
He added: “We hope that the Judicial Council’s latest achievement gets propagated to include martyr-President Rene Moawad assassination’s judicial case and those of all the Cedars Revolution’s martyrs.”
