Commenting on the harsh attacks perpetrated by Lebanese Army and Security Forces members against demonstrators at the Riad El-Solh Square, the leader of the ‘Independence Movement’ Michel Moawad tweeted on his personal ‘Twitter’ account:
"What the demonstrators in Downtown Beirut were subject to is not acceptable and is to be condemned. Any return of the oppressing security regime’s practices has to be strongly confronted.”
