The president of the ‘Independence Movement’ Michel Moawad condemned the attack on the ‘Al Jadeed TV’ that took place on Thursday May 11th at dawn. In a series of tweets on ‘Twitter’, he stated:
“The attacks on ‘Al Jadeed’, Amal Khashafi, Sarah Suleiman, Khalil Al Kattan and Talal Al Awad, require a sharp stand by the civil community against the ‘culture of arms’, and an action by the State to bring the culprits to justice.”
In a tweet that followed, he added:
“The assault on ‘Al Jadeed’ is condemned and not acceptable. Infringements on freedoms in Lebanon is a red line, whatever the pretexts may be. We will not accept to fall back into militia practices.”
He added to his tweet the hashtag: #متضامن_مع_الجديد
