Independence Movement leader Michel Moawad has called for the treatment of drug addicts as patients rather than criminals, urging medical institutions to comply with a memo issued by the Health Ministry in this regard after media reports said some hospitals have failed to comply with the ministry's directives.
“We should join efforts to ensure that drug addicts are treated as patients rather than criminals,” Moawad tweeted.
