Independence Movement leader Michel Moawad urged more action to promote women's rights on the occasion of the International Women's Day.
"International Women's Day remind us of our negligence in terms of protecting women's rights and encouraging women's participation in public affairs," Moawad said in a tweet.
Moawad also urged the ratification of new laws to promote equality.
