Independence Movement leader Michel Moawad condemned Friday Russia's violation of Lebanese sovereignty after Russian authorities demanded that Lebanon halts flights to and from Beirut airport for a three-day period as Moscow conducts naval drills in the Mediterranean Sea.
"Russia's violation of Lebanese sovereignty by forcing Lebanon to halt flights is unacceptable," Moawad said in a tweet, urging the government to file a complaint before the UN Security Council.
